Dear All,

Reflection : Nobody ever did, or ever will, escape the consequences of his choices. - Alfred A. Montepart

1. Mavis and Janice have some beads each. If Mavis gives 30 beads to Janice, she will have 4 times as many beads as Janice. If she gives 150 beads to Janice, she will have 1 1/2    times as many beads as Janice. Find the number of beads Mavis has.

2. There were some marbles in Box X and Box Y.    1/4  of the marbles in Box Y were taken out  and put into Box X. After this, both Box Y and Box X contained the same number of marbles. If there were 120 marbles in Box X in the beginning, how many marbles were there in Box Y at first?

Your chef,
Mrs Mak
